Surprise surprise!
There were a few surprises for us this week after our one week's holiday.
The snow arrive and we had a lot of fun playing in the snow. We built snow figures, forts and other things. The football field was closed off because of the snow. Catrin had an announcement today about the playground. We need to be careful because there is a lot of snow on the roof of the school buildings and in the playground. Unfortunately, there was a little accident with a classmate and a teacher.
It also took some of us a longer time to get to school because of the snow on the roads and sidewalks. Be careful everyone! Hillary and Katarina have said it's better to get to school safe than worry too much about the time.
We've been following the election in the USA too. We found out that Donald Trump was president. Students in class 5B were on the "Lilla Aktuellt" and talked about their feeling with the election. We also watched it and tried to understand more about it.
Since Katarina went to NYC, we've had a substitute. Ninni or Nina has been reading us a story about space and Mars.
Many of us need to practice the months of the year. We learned a way on our handsto remember if a month has 30 or 31 days. We are going to read a story about a leap year next week.
Thanks for reading!

UN Day and Halloween!
Our week started off with UN day! We had a challenge to find Swedish coins that we won't be able to use after June 2017. Our class collected coins and weighed them. 209 Kr weighed 1.4 Kg. We collected the most in grades F-3! The whole collected coins that weighed 15.8 kg. We donated all the coins to UNICEF.
Our Halloween celebration was fun. We still had a regular school day but everything had a Halloween theme. 6B had a spooky tunnel with stories. There were 3 different scary levels.
Have a safe and healthy holiday!! Thank you for reading!

Peace and our five senses
We had a great time dancing with Hillary and Emma in gym. We danced to a Lil Babs song. We tried to dance to it in the classroom however, the classroom below us had a hard time writing while they felt and heard our jumps.
In preparation for UN day on the 24th October we wrote Peace poems using our five senses.
Peace smells like fresh air and my grandma's mince pie.
Peace looks like wet grass and fluffy clouds.
Peace feels like something soft and raindrops that fall on your hand.
Peace tastes like hamburgers and toast.
Peace sounds like raindrops falling on the ground and wind that blows in your ears.
Peace smells like Pad Thai.
Peace looks like the woods
Peace feels like the wind and the water in the sea.
Peace tastes like Pad Thai.
Peace sounds like a quiet room.
Next week the school will have a visitor from UNICEF. If you have any coins to donate please send them in before Thursday.

Hur tung blir varje klass
bidrag? Ingen ska ta med sig mer än max 10kr.
Självklart är det en
frivillig insats.
Med vänlig hälsning
Johannes skola
